Nexrara ("we", "us", "our") operates a B2B marketplace for specialty chemicals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, including our website, API, AI features, and communication tools.

Name, email address, phone number
Company name and business details
Password (stored encrypted, never in plaintext)
Product listings, descriptions, and documents (TDS, SDS)
Storefront information (branding, certifications, company details)
Inquiry messages, quote requests, and sample requests
Profile pictures and uploaded images
Contact form submissions

2.2 Automatically Collected

IP address (used for rate limiting and security)
Browser type, device information, operating system
Pages visited, features used, time spent
Authentication tokens (JWT) stored in cookies

How We Use Your Information

Platform operation: Account management, authentication, product listings, and marketplace functionality
Communication: Sending inquiry notifications, response alerts, verification emails, and password resets
AI features: Processing uploaded documents for product matching, extraction, and AI-powered recommendations
Security: Rate limiting by IP address, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and account protection
Analytics: Inquiry statistics, product views, response rates, and platform usage metrics for sellers
Improvement: Enhancing platform features, search quality, and user experience

Section 4

AI & Third-Party Data Processing

Our AI features use third-party AI providers to process data:

Anthropic (Claude)

Document extraction, product data analysis from TDS/SDS files

OpenAI

Semantic search embeddings for product matching

Google (Gemini)

Additional AI processing capabilities

When you upload documents to Find Match or Document Extraction, the file content is sent to these providers for processing. Documents are not stored by Nexrara beyond the processing session. Third-party providers process data according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Product embeddings (vector representations) are stored in our database to enable semantic search. These embeddings do not contain readable personal information.

Section 5

Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Between users: When you send an inquiry, your name, email, phone number, and company name are shared with the seller. Sellers see buyer contact details in their inbox.
  • Email notifications: Inquiry content, buyer/seller names, and contact information are included in email notifications to facilitate communication.
  • AI service providers: Document content is sent to Anthropic and OpenAI for AI feature processing (see Section 4).
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or government request.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share seller inquiry volumes, analytics, or business data with competing sellers.

Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

Passwords hashed with bcrypt (never stored in plaintext)
JWT-based authentication with configurable token expiry
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
Rate limiting on all API endpoints to prevent abuse
CORS restrictions to authorized domains only
Security headers (HSTS, X-Frame-Options, CSP)
Role-based access control (buyer, seller, admin)
Input validation and SQL injection prevention via ORM

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 9

Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active, deleted upon account closure request
  • Inquiry history: Retained for the duration of both parties' accounts
  • Uploaded documents (AI): Not retained beyond the processing session
  • Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging

Section 10

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. When using AI features, your data may be processed by third-party providers in various locations according to their data processing terms.

Section 11

Children's Privacy

Nexrara is a B2B platform not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
